Center Console

In the 1960's, when Rondel was woven out of arcane majicks and old Sherman tank parts, His entertainment facilities were limited to nothing but an AM/FM radio. That's not gonna fly with me though.

Although there is enough room inside Rondel for a half-court b-ball game, there's not much extra space in the dash to add electronics. Right now the only thing I'm adding is an MP3 CD Player, but in the immediate future I plan to install:
A 12 Volt miniPC with the video patched out to an overhead, hide-away LCD panel.

A "civilian" version of Cadillac's Night Vision System (on a flip-up LCD in the dash, not the HUD
A custom camera secruity system with 4-camera, overlapping coverage. The video will feed digitally into the miniPC on 12-hour loops. This I will wire to an extra channel off the alarm system, and into the pc through an RS-232 interface, so it will arm with the alarm.
Two timestamped extra cameras pointing out of the front and rear of the vehicle. I call these "cop cams", the front one due to the similarity between the cameras cops use, and the rear one to keep an eye on the cops when I get pulled over.
    Wireless "Ricochet" internet connection
Infrared communications port, or wireless LAN to communicate with the 'Dungeon Shack', (my house) and the 'Maison Derierre' (my home network).

This is a pic of the console I came up with

I plan to cover the whole thing in a light coat of fiberglas, to give it the same smooth texture as the steel dash panels, and add a door/lid that will retract into the console.
